Hello! I'm a beginner and have what hopefully amounts to a simple question.

When powering a Mikroe-66, do I need to provide 5V VCC/GND power to the pins or the screw terminals, or both?

Side Note: I am using this to connect to a NMEA 0183 based sonar unit to a Teensy 3.6 through a 74LCX125. I've had some odd behavior, such is suddenly stops reading the sonar unit. I'm trying to track down the issue - and have only been powering the MIkroe-66 through the pins.

Any input is appreciated!

Hi,

Welcome to the MikroE forum.

You should be able to power the board through header
(pins), but can you please check if you get 5V on VCC?

Since board can work only on 5V and communicate on 5V.

Kind regards,
Lana

Thanks!

Turns out it was the 74LCX125, they kept burning out due to an unknown wiring issue.
