I'm trying to power my CEC MCU board with 3.3v
Pin 1 of the mikroProg is measuring 1.75v

In the options there is "Target Power", which if I set to 3.3v doesn't seem to do anything.

Do I have to use an external PSU to power my circuit?

Hello,

I apologize for the delayed answer.

I tested my mikroProg and when I set Target Voltage to 3.3V Pin 1 of the mikroProg is measuring 3.5v.
Could you provide me with more details about your issue?

Which board do you use?
When you set target power to 3.3V can you detect MCU?

Kind regards,
Jovana

Hi Jovana,

When you select Target Power of 3.3V, does it immediately switch voltage at that point? Or do you have to do something else?

I'm waiting for parts including the MCU, so I am just testing at the moment, and noticed the voltage wasn't switching. Maybe the mikroProg wont switch until It sees the MCU?

Thanks

Hi,

When I select Target Power of 3.3V, the target voltage has been switched immediately to 3.3v.

Can you tell me which board do you use and when you set target power to 3.3V are you able to detect the MCU?

Kind regards,
Jovana

The board is my own design. But before I even connect to it, I cant get 3.3v.

I noticed my mikroProg Link light never comes on. Should it? I have tried on two Windows 10 PCs. mikroProg v1.60 has installed ok on both.

I noticed the software behaves the same if the USB programmer is plugged in or not. No indication of there being a problem when I select the voltage.

Hi,

When I connect my mikroProg with PC and set Power Target to 3.3, LINK turns on and when I set Power Target to None , LINK turns off.

You can try to reinstall your mikroProg Suite, but install it using admin privileges.
Also, you need to install the driver using admin privileges.

After that, run mikroProg Suite using admin privileges too.

Kind regards,
Jovana

Thank you. I tried that. How do you install the drivers as admin? Is there a separate drivers download? Windows 10 seems to install them automatically.

Hi,

I'm sending you the links of:
mikroProg Suite:
https://download.mikroe.com/setups/prog ... p-v160.zip
and driver:
https://download.mikroe.com/setups/driv ... rivers.rar

If you want to install using admin privilege, press right click on the .exe file and choose Run As Administrator.

Kind regards,
Jovana

I don't think the drivers are installing. Windows is picking up defaults.
I have tried on two Windows 10 PC's and it's the same.

I cant see anything in the software to say it's not able to connect. It seems to behave like it's doing something. Yet the Link light does not come on.

This is what I am seeing on the USB port.

idVendor=3ea1, idProduct=0001, bcdDevice= 1.00
Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Product: mikroProg for CEC
Manufacturer: mikroElektronika

Is this correct for the CEC programmer?

Hello,

I apologize for the delayed answer.

That's all correct.

Try to disable driver signature. The explanation on how to do that can be found at the following:
https://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to ... d-drivers/

Kind regards,
Jovana

I tried that thank you, but it still does not work. Again, on two Windows PCs.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the software to say if it's connected to the programmer. Even with the programmer unplugged, I can click on detect MCU, and it doesn't say missing programmer. It just says MCU Not Detected. So I cant eliminate a faulty programmer, or a driver problem.

Hi,

When you connect mikroProg and your board, can you detect MCU? (Try with both Target options).

Kind regards,
Jovana

If I supply an external 3.3v to my board, the link LED comes on. Even if the USB is unplugged.

Detect MCU Doesn't find anything.

Hello,

Can you send me the picture of how you connected your mikroProg to your board?
Also, try to change USB port, but use the USB port on the back of your PC.

Kind regards,
Jovana
